OPPORTUNITIES TO ADVOCATE
The Eastside Human Services Forum advocates with Eastside City Governments, King County, State, and Federal to ensure that revenue and policies support the needs of East King County residents. Throughout the year we’ll post Call to Action items if you’re interested in advocacy work.
Legislative Session Outcomes 2015
The 2015 Legislative Session revealed the shift created by our state’s economic recovery. With funding for the McCleary decision still at the forefront of legislators’ minds, we still had significant legislation passed and budget proviso items approved that had a positive impact for human services. Governor Inslee signed the Homeless Youth Act and the Early Start Act, both items on our 2015 Legislative Agenda. We saw many of our budget asks implemented in the budget, including significant investments in the Housing Trust Fund and Early Childhood. For details on how our priority items fared check out our Legislative Update-July 2015.
